Instant family outing

Wandering the Varosliget for a place to sit and read (and sleep), we eventually picked a tree. It took a minute to stand there and scope out its suitability since there was a lot of activity going on. Over here was a pack of dogs flowing this way and that while their owners chatted with each other. Over there was a bunch of kids chasing each other on bikes. I noticed a woman standing nearby watching her kids run around.

When the target tree turned out to be a good enough distance from out of control frisbees, dogs or bikes, we went for it. In the same instant, so did the woman. With neither party wanting to make an awkward change of course, we sat down together and shared the tree. Then a dog joined us. He kept nosing his way into our faces, then chasing 'Andras' the son on a bike, then circling back over to sit down. Then the daughter would get up yelling after Andras, followed by the dog, and on and on... Occasionally we and the mother would smile and exchange a few casual syllables with each other, disregarding the fact that none of us understood them.

We had a family for a while, and the companionship was amplified by so many other suitable trees standing around unused.
